Reverend Collins A. Days, Sr.
Rev. Days became the youngest full-time Pastor in the state of South Carolina when he accepted the call to Round-O-Baptist Church in Darlington, SC. After thirteen years of service there, he and Constance gathered their four children, Collins Anthony Jr., Constance Amanda, Catherine Abria, and Carson Antonio and moved to Atlantic City, NJ to pastor Second Baptist Church.
Rev. Days believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ is spiritual with distinct social implications.He has continued to make a meaningful impact in the South Jersey area and in the mission field abroad.Rev. Days has served as the President of the Fellowship of Churches of Atlantic City and Vicinity.Pastor Days has initiated, implemented or promoted numerous community biased and community supported projects.
Rev. Days commitment to missions is evident through the missions organization UBIA (United Brethren in Action) on which he is the serves as President.He supports ministry partnerships in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Trinidad, Haiti and India the various projects includes wells, building clinics, schools, churches, leadership, pastoral support, missionary tours, and orphanages.
Pastor Days also serves as President of Vision 2000 Community Development Corporation which has accomplished a great deal in Atlantic City.Projects such as Home Ownership Programs, Senior Citizen Housing Complex, Civil Rights Garden, established a Minority owned Business, and Low Income Housing.
Reverend Days has a deep concern for our youth and a desire to encourage emotionally broken men and women who have lost hope in spiritual things. This concern motivated him to establish the Minister's Home Detention Program, the Pastor's Posse, Christians in Recovery, Spiritual Leadership Training classes and the African-American Male Conference. Through the continued blessing of God and the support of the Second Baptist Church, he has been able to reach out and assist local Spanish speaking congregations, Korean congregations, and a Ghanaian congregation as well as fellow Baptist churches in the surrounding area.
Pastor Days continues to work diligently to bring the vision God has given him to fruition. While in the process of securing all that is necessary for the new edifice, he continues to study, teach and preach the Word of God, to pray, and to impart the richness of God purpose into the lives of the people.His life continues to touch many, and those lives are much richer for having had the experience.Thanks be to God. |
